This is very touching, but also a little weird. This kid could get seriously hurt by an outside screen or something. Take a look.

Politics are Stupid
September 10, 2008
If you’ve been to my blog, you know I love politics. I am so entangled in the upcoming election, it is unhealthy. I feel I’ve made my stances clear, you know which party I support, and you know which candidates I do not.
The recent hoopla over the “lipstick” remark made by Obama has really been blown out of propotion. I’ve disagreed with a lot the Democratic nominee has said. Practically 100% of what he’s said, to be truthful. But the GOP is not doing themselves any good by trying to create another smear attack that distracts from the actual issues: the economy, the joke that is the federal reserve, the war in iraq, immigration, education, etc. etc.
Both parties are guilty of negative campaigning. It is one thing to simply present facts to display how you are different from your opponent. But I cannot, and will not, support negative ads or swiftboating simply to play the game of politics. It’s childish and does more harm than good. The McCain/Palin ticket, as well as the Obama/Biden ticket, both have great chances of making a strong showing in the upcoming election (notice I didn’t say history.) They should spend time focusing on what they are actually going to do rather than squabble about technicalities.
Whether or not you agree with him (I have several issues of my own) Ron Paul nails this one concerning the squabbling over technicalities and the distractions made by candidates:
I am, and will continue to be, a proud Republican. May God truly bless America.
Sadmerica of Sadnited Sad

Hearing comments like this doesn’t just make me frustrated..it makes me sad.
From Derrek Lee, 1st Baseman of the Chicago Cubs:
“Around the world, they think we’re kind of an elitist country. We kind of just go around and think we’re entitled to everything,” he said. “If they saw a black president, it might change that perception.”
Lee gave President George W. Bush credit for helping athletes by lowering their taxes and acknowledged that probably wouldn’t happen in an Obama administration, “but it doesn’t matter.” Supporting Obama is the right thing to do, he said.
He said those who make more money should pay more taxes: “It helps our economy.”
Apparently elitism is explicitly linked to race. According to Lee, black people can’t be elitists. Why can’t they? Elitism has nothing to do with the color of our skin. It has everything to do with how people exploit their wealth and power at the expense of others. Anybody can be an elitist, not just white people.
Also, even though he’s gonna raise your taxes, supporting Obama is the “right thing to do.” Why, exactly, Mr. Lee, is this the right thing to do? Is raising taxes the right thing to do? Is it more important to make “history” in this election rather than elect someone who is qualified and experienced?
Then Lee brought it home: it helps the economy to have those who make more pay more taxes. I’m no Milton Friedman or Friedrich Hayek, but I don’t think he’s, how do you say…right? Since when has an increase in taxes helped our economy? That money goes directly to the government, not the market. Tax cuts are what help the economy. Why? People keep more of their own money, and they are free to invest or stimulate the economy through private purchases. This isn’t rocket science. When people are taxed more, no matter their income, they have less money to spend, and that is what hurts the economy.
Please, don’t vote blindly.
